Last Sunday in St. Andrew's Church being what is known as, "Clolden Sunday," a day of special effort, on behalf of the church funds, there were large congregations both morning and evening. The choir rendered a number of special sacred numbers, and it is understood the financial result was very satisfactory. The clocks and watches of most people in Wairoa have been put on an hour, and the first two days under the provisions of the Summer Time Act have been passed. Already the people are falling in with the new system. The" congregation at St. Andrew's Church on Sunday night was somewhat startled by eight or 10 explosions of rockets or basket bombs close to the building. No doubt juveniles were responsible, and it shows bad taste on the part of those who do not go to church to disturb those who do.
