Within the past few weeks a number of suburban residences in Christehureh have been look,mi into during the absence of the occupants and furniture and furnishings stolen in a daring manner. Carpets, bedding, and various other articles which could have been removed easily in a motw car mostly have been taken, but in some cases (be* bouses have been practically stripped of everything except heavy pieces of furniture. In one
