SALE OF JEWELLERY
The announcement in Wednesday's Herald of the sale of jewellery, to be conducted by Messrs. A. Stoneham and Co., at Diamond House, created a remarkable degree of interest, and throughout yesterday afternoon the. display, windows of the well-known jewellery 'emporium were the centre of attention. The proprietors had intimated that all goods would be offered at half-price. "and that in many cases the prices woidd joe less than half the normal cost of the ' articles, and the display made yesterday resulted in an eager gathering of prospective buyers as soon as the store was opened this morning. The stock carried by Stoneham and Co. js exceptionally wide in range, and patrons of the sale had splendid opportunities of ■ selecting gifts and personal ~ needs- Diamond rings, pendants, ' brooches, gold and silver, watches, bangles and a host, of other items of personal adornment were shown, at prices which appealed to hose who Y.iieß be expected to know the valueof ■. jewVllerv, white fancy pottery china ware, clocks, table equipment, and taste. |nl household ornaments attracted the attention of house-lovers.
