NOT PROPERLY EQUIPPED
(Por Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day.
A. W. Bryant, owner of the scow Kaiti, was fined £25 in the Police Court, for allowing'Hie vessel to proceed on. a yoyage without proper lights and other equipment. Captain Townshend ; master of the vessel, stated- in evidence that on discovering that the vessel was not properly equipped he wanted to drop anchor inside the. heads, but the crew would not, let him.
Asked.if it was a mutiny, he replied: " Yes, it was mutiny. I could not stand up against two big men." The defendant said he had no ledge that his foreman had removed the equipment to prevent it being stolen. Security for appeal was fixed at, £lO 10s.
