LEAGUE OF PEACE
FOR BRITISH INDUSTRY IMPORTANT DEVELOPMENTS (British Official Wireless.) l!ec. i p.m. LONDON, Oct. 18. It is now announced that the meeting at Mansion House will he followed by a large conference of captains of industry and trade unions representatives, and that Sir Alfred Mond probably will preside. It is hoped that an exchange of views at the conference may result in some steps being taken towards establishing the suggested league of industrial peace.
It is now understood that Sir Josiah Stamp, president of the London, Midland, and Scottish Railway, whose plea tor co-operation has led to several important conferences between railway trade union leaders and those engaged in directing the railway policy, will attend. The coal owners will send a representative, and so will other important industries. The railway, mining, steel, and other trade unions will send delegates.
