CHANNEL SWIM

MISS GLEITZE STARTS AGAIN (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) '(Received Oct. 19. 2 p.m.) LONDON, Oct. IS. Miss Gleitze left for Cape Grisncz in vindication of her swim and the honor of England. She was farcwclled by enthusiastic, crowds. She declared that she was confident of success, which view is not shared by expert Channel swimmers, many of whom say it is suicidal owing to the coldness. Miss Gleitze says Dr. Logan tried her best to dissuade her because she feels responsible, "but," she adds, ",we have been let down in the eyes of America, France, and others, whose representatives attempted the Channel swim.''

Miss Gleitze, the London typist. swam the Channel on October 8, but in view of Dr.'Dorothy Logan's subsequent hoax, and the doubts cast on other performances, decided to repeat the effort.
