WELLINGTON TOURNAMENT (P«r Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Ihi.s day. Play in the Wellington ladies' provincial golf championship commenced at lleretaunga yesterday, when tw>~> qualifying rounds for the provincial tille were decided. The entries constitute a record, and are from all parts of the Dominion. They total 117. The best scores in the qualifying rounds were obtained by Miss M. Payton, Rotorua, 86 and 76, n total of 162; Mrs Guv Williams, Masterton, 82—83—165: "and Miss S. Weston, Palmerston North, 83—82-*-165. Others who qualified were: Mi.ss o*. Kay, Dunedin, Mrs Nhailer Weston, New Plymouth, Miss Seifert, Pahherston North, 167; Miss Achesnii, Nelson, Miss V. Upliam, Miramar, 168; Miss Gould, Christchureh, 169; Mrs Stout, Wellington, Mrs Sclanders, Wellington, 171; Miss Rathbone, Auckland,

173; Mrs 'Godby, Christchureh, Miss Brandon, Wellington, 174; Mrs Grace, Wanganui, Miss Gnmbrill, Wellington, 175. The teams match, based on the second qualifying round, was held also, the Auckland team, comprising Miss Payton 76, Miss Upton 87, Miss Rathbone 87. and: Miss Hamlin 90, an aggregate, of 340, winning.
