OLD GIRLS LOSE A POINT A feature of the ladies' games in Gishorne on Saturday was the verv even contest between Old Girls and Mariutuke. who played out a draw, Old Girls thus losing their first point this season. CONFERENCE AT WAIOMATATINI A conference of East Const clubs and sub-assoeint ions was held at Wnioniataiini on Friday evening, Poverty Bay being represented by Messrs A. S. Parker, president, and A. Cassia, chairman of the executive. Mr. W. C. Cumpsty presided over IS delegates, representing teams from Tokomaru Bay to north of the Bast. Cape. The meeting was held at the residence of Lady Ngata, and to her praise was given not only on this account, but also for the most hospitable manner in which she entertained the ■ delegates.
