The King, the Prince of Wales, and Prince George wore at Victoria Station last evening to meet King Alfonso of Spain on liis arrival from Paris, lie. is travelling incognito, and is staying at Claridge’s Hotel. This morning ho attended church, afterwards lunching at Buckingham Palace. GLORY REFUSED BY KING MADRID, May 16. The twenty-fifth anniversary of the coronation of King Alfonso, which was to have been celebrated with unprecedented pomp in response to the popular wish, has been reduced to a cordial demonstration of loyalty. King Alfonso lias requested that no expenditure should be incurred for bis personal glory, but that tho national sentiment should express itself in connection with his favorite project of developing Madrid as a university city. Mon don Park, in tho west of Madrid, is to ho tho site of the new university buildings.
