Mr. A. J. Anderson, manager of Messrs Dalgety and Co., at Wairon, was a visitor to Gisborne yesterday, and with Mrs. Anderson, returned to Wairoa to-day. Mr. John Karrell, of the managerial staff of .1. C. Wilfinmsmi. Ltd., who underwent an operation recently, is milking satisfactory progress toward recovery. Mr. A. M. Du Croz, assistant manager of the London branch of Messrs Dalgety and Co., who is on an extensive tour of New Zealand, visited Gisborne yesterday, and left this morning for Auckland, via Opotiki and Rotorua. Decoration for long and meritorious service in the military forces of New Zealand. The Rev. Father M. J. Furlong, priesl-tti-eharge of the Roman Catholic parish of Devouport, will, in a few days, reach the 25th anniversary of his ordination as a priest. The ceremony took place at Tliurlcs Cathedral, in the Archdiocese of Cashel, Ireland, on June 22, 1902, the Archbishop of Cashel officiating. ' The. event will be celebrated by a conversazione of the Devouport congregation on June 22, and also by a high mass on June 26, at which Bishop Liston will be present. Father Furlong arrived in New Zealand about 24 years ago, and was stationed in the Gisborne district for a short period, and then was attached to St. Benedict's Church.
