(Herald Correspondent.) The Y.M.C.A, at'the Kotemaori section of the Wairoa-Napiev railway has been brought up-to-date by the mstalla tion of a wireless set,. Yesterday was the wettest one for some time', the night especially being very stormy. Mr. N. MoKenzie is to be present on June 29, to select, if possible, some players to make up the Hawke's Bay team against, Wairarapa on July 9 for the Ranfurly Shield. In the meantime a number of players have gone into training. During the football match on Saturday between JSiuhaka and Tapuae, M. Karangaroa injured his leg and bad to retire. tOn examination at the hospital it was aeertained that the small bone of the leg was broken. His club is the only one in the district under the subunion that failed to join the H.B.R.U. assurance fund. On Saturday on the new sports ground Tapuae defeated Nuhaka by 14 to 8, after a good game. S. Gemmell, for the winners, played a good game, whilst J.; Smith and M. Gemmel did good work, Te Ngaio (back) being very prominent. Greening, Smith, and Wnerea also acquitted themselves wen. Playing at Tuai, Waikaremoana beat Pirates by 6 to nil. Junior games.— Nuhaka (8) beat Mahia (0); Pirates and Tapuae after a hard tussle, drew*. 3 all; Old Boys (9) beat School 0; Pirates B beat Pirates A 12 to 9. whilst Waihua forfeited to ; Waikaremoana. Old Boys defeated Wanderers by 17 to nil. In the Sandham (schools) cup games, Nuhaka and Whakaki drew, 3 all, and Nuhaka beat Wniroa Convent by six to three. In the men's hockey competition the results were: Tapuae won the Mitchell tournament;; Tapuae scored a win over P.W.D. by two goals to nil; Kia Kaha bent Mohnka.by two goals to nil; tapuae find Kia, Kaha had a close go, the former winning by three goals to two. Tapua- now heads the list. At ladies' hockey Sports won.'from Nuhaka by two goals to nil; Mahia and Wot* papa drew, no score resulting, Tapuae boat Old Girls, two to nil.
