SAAR COMMISSION

NEW CHAIRMAN APPOINTED (British Official Wireless.) Eec. 10 a.m. LONDON, June 10. The acting-president of the League of Nations Council, Dr. Stresemann, has appointed Sir Ernest Wilton to be chairman and member of the Saar Commission until March 31, W2B. The appointment was made on the proposal of Signer Scialoja rapporteur to the Council for the Saar questions, and after consulting all members of the Council. The procedure was decided upon by the Council on March IS. Sjr Ernest Wilton has held a number of posts in the Far East, being for some years foreign chief inspector of the Chinese salt gabelle. He has also had experience in Central Europe as British Minister in Latvia and Estonia, British Commissioner in Lithuania, and a member of the Tescheii International Commission.
