BUT NOT INSANE LONDON, May 24. The declaration by Dr. Theophilus B. Hyslop, the well-known mental expert-, who is lecturer on psychological meclifcine at ‘St. Mary’s Hospital and at tlie London School of Medicine for Women, that be had never given a certificate t of perfect health and perfect sanity, was a feature of the case- to-day in which Mrs. Do Freville claimed damages, for negligence, assault, and false imprisonment, from Dr. Dill, who last year certified that she was insane. , The Judge: Then all hereVaro slightly defective in health, sanity, or knowledge? Dr. Hyslop (courteously): I except your Lordship and the jury. (Laughter.) Dr. Marnan gave evidence that because a indy remained in a temper foY lengthy periods that was no evidence of insanity. He had known cases in which a fit of temper lasted for five days.
