TENNIS CHAMPION
ANDREWS GOING TO ENGLAND. E. D. Andrews, of l’alnterston North, the New Zealand lawn tennis champion, intends to leave for England in July by the lonic. Mr Andrews, who completed his law examinations in March, and who is to be admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court in Wellington next month, will continue his studies at Home. At the same time, lie intends pursuing Ins career at tennis, his intention being to play at. Wimbledon and tlie various English tournaments next year, while m all probability he will also take part in one or two of tlie Riviera tournaments in the south of Franco. Interviewed by a reporter, Mr. Andrews said that lie expected to be abroad tor about 18 months or two years. He welcomed the opportunity which enabled him to meet some of the best exponents of tennis, and hoped thereby to materially improve ins game. He stated that he needed to go further afield in the tennis sphere, tins having been impressed upon him by the experience he gamed while in Australia with the New Zealand team last year.
