NEW FRENCH TARIFF
BRITISH TRADE AFFECTED (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) (Received Mav 14, 10 a.m.) PARIS, May 13. The Chamber of Deputies began a debate on the new Custom Tariff, which is arousing fierce controversy in view of the possible effect of the already high cost of living. The Bill greatly increases the tariff against British boots, shoes, textiles, tools, machinery, and chemicals.
