£160,000 GIFT TO, HOSPITAL

LONDON, March 24. A sum of £160,000 lias been presented 'bv an anonymous donor to the Middlesex Hospital, to b(> applied to the building of a new nurses’ homo. Prince Arthur of Connaught, in announcing the gift at a meeting ot the governors, observed that the gift was unique. It Was wonderful—almost to wonderful to realise fully—and they were overcome with gratitude to the large-hearted and modest- donor, and with admiration of his public spirit and extraordil l ary generosity. By means of this gift it would be possible to make provision for the first section of the hostel, with about 180 bedrooms and refectory and recreation accommodation for the full personnel to he lodgedl in it.
