Inconvenience to passengers in a do luxe sleeper ‘on the. limited express which left Wellington for Auckland recently was paused during tho run to Palmerston North. An axle became ’ over-heated, resulting in the devclop--1 ment of a “hot box,” and the sleeper had to be taken off at Palmerston North, 17 passengers transferring to an ordinary carriage about 10 o'clock in (he evening. The best accommodation under the circumstances was given, but there was naturally some dismay on the part of the passengers in having to vacate their sleeping berths for the less comfortable seats of an ordinary carriage.
