On the opening day six balls were stolen, all by one particularly enegetic crow, but by the following wee.k r eud I lie news hail gone round, and half a dozen- of- the. pests .were-.about, They scored well.’ too, notwithstanding the shou-ting. and. rushing of players. bagging ten perfectly good golf balls on the Saturday and 14 on Ihc Sunday.
Their sterner measures were taken. The second Hub of, defence was called up. the mCiv being stationed at intervals round the course to keep the predatory visitors away. AIT manner of threats have been made by irate golfers, but up to the present there have been no .casualties among the crows.
