OBITUARY
mb. WILLIAM RICHARDSON
Advice has been received of the death at Wooroolin, Queensland, on May l't of Mr. William Richardson, an early resident of the Gisborne district. The late Mr. Richardson came out .from England many years ago, and was one of the first settlers at Waimata, when that block was first cut up. Ho married Miss Helen Jones, sister of His Honor Judge Jon'es, and lived at Waimata, for many years, being p most successful farmer. Some years ago ihe deceased decided to settle in Queensland, whence had come wonderful reports of thy opportunities for farming; he carried with him lo Queensland the associations of Poverty Bay, and named his new property at Wooroolin “Waimata.’' Mr, Richardson had been ill for a considerable- time, and his death was not unexpected. He leaves a Rirge family, one daughter, bliss Cherry Richardson, being at present resident in Poverty Bay* Deceased had many relatives in this district, and .was a bro.thef of Messrs. Edward, Peter, Arthur, Jpbu, and George Richardson, and bliss J. Richardson.
