NEGLIGENT MOTORIST FINED
(Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day
As a result of knocking down and fatally injuring Miss Emily Owen in Upper Queen, street oil the night of February 25, Thomas Lionel Grice, a taxi-driver, was found guilty of driving negligently, • thereby causing Miss Owen’s death. The jury added a strong 'recommendation to mercy. Mr. Justice Ficrdman considered aroused was guilty of negligence in a minor degree. He was undoubtedly travelling to fast., considering the condition of the street, and the murky atmosphere. The unfortunate lady was to some extent to blame for the accident, lie, lined accused £26, with costs £25 7s\ in default six months’ imprisonment.
