A STORMY VOYAGE

HINEMOA FROM NORFOLK ISLAND (Special to the Herald.l AUCKLAND, this day. The Government steamer, Hinemoa, which arrived at Auckland from Norfolk Island yesterday, left the island during a vivid thunderstorm. Frequent Hashes of lightning illuminated the sky and land with weird effect. On the voyage to Auckland the Hinemoa encountered a, south-east gale and high seas on Sunday afternoon, and the boisterous conditions continued until Tuesday afternoon. After she has passed Capo Brett the vessel was considerably buffetted by the storm, and a good deal of water was shipped on deck, but no damage was done. The gale was at its woe's* on Monday, and in 24 hours she only si earned 84 knots, the speed at times falling to 3.5 knots.
