CARS BLAMED
FOB EMPTY CHURCHES MELBOURNE, May 2. Motor cars are responsible for our empty churches, according to the Mo-derator-Designate of the Presbyterian Church of Victoria, Rev. David Millet. He said that to-day, 'because of the motor car taking people to the country, our churches were empty. The motor car even affected the .Sunday schools, for the children were taken out in fhe motor ears by tlioir parents, and they word denied all knowledge of Ood and religion. Brighter services were the remedy. There miist be more .music. He would riot admit moving pictures into the church, for he considered that (he right kind of film wis not obtainable. Already there was too great a tendency to make religious services a form of entertainment.
