Such was the text of a circular sent out to a client by Charles Leslie Watters, and handed to Mr. F. K- Hunt, S.M., to read in the l’olice Court yesterday, when. Watters pleaded guilty to a charge of having published a double chart on the Easter Handicap and Brighton Hurdles, run at Auckland on April 16 last. I hief-Detective Cummings, Aylio banded the circular to the magistrate, said Watters was a bookmaker who carried on business in a large building in Queen street “ This circular ivas posted to one of his clients, and the client sent it to me, sir,” added the detective. “ Well, I suppose I will just have to fine him.
