MOTOR CYCLIST INJURED (P«- Procs Association.> AUCKLAND, last night. A young man, N. P. Marshall, who resides at Sod don road, Birkenhead, iaet with a serious accftlont on the Papakura road this afternoon. He had been riding a motor cycle and came to grief. The driver of a taxicab, McCall, saw Marshall lying on the road with a cut on his lihad, and at once took him to l)r. Mcßae, who gave first aid and ordered Marshall’s removal to the hospital. He was found to have severe injuries to his head and his condition was considered serious. THREE PERSONS DROWNED AUCKLAND, last night. A drowning accident involving the loss of three lives occurred off Rangitoto Island after dark to-night. Two men, Walter Noyes, of Glenmore, and Roy MaUieson, of Auckland, left for * St. Heliers Bay from the island in a dinghy, accompanied by Harold Walby, of Auckland, Miss Frankland and her sister, Airs. Longnett, of Devonport. During the trip the dinghy swamped and Matheson, Miss Frankland and Mrs. Longnett were drowned. The others wore rescued by a passing boat.

fYvE HURT IN CAR SMASH OAMARU, last night. While travelling from Dunedin to Oainaru on Saturday morning, a ear with seven occupants went over the bank this side of Ilillgrove, resulting in five suffering injuries. The driver was Alfred Hicks, Dunedin, and it appears he had just passed another ear, and was turning back on t,o the road when the ear got' out, of hand and went over the bank. The driver and Cecil Davey escaped uninjured. John Nichols (Dunedin) sustained head injuries, and Mrs. Nicola was cut on the forehead and had. one or two ribs broken. Mrs. llieks received a fracture of the small bone of the arm and her daughter, Rua Ilicks, live years old, sustained head injuries. Mrs. A. M. Davev (Dunedin) received a fracture of the left leg. All are progressing satisfactorily.
