_.«. A PROPOSAL DEFEATED (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) (Received April 7, 11 a.m.) DUBLIN, April 6. A sensation was caused in the> Dai! Eireen by Mr. Dan Breen, who recently took his seat, sponsoring a Bill to amend the constitution by repealing the oath of allegiance. Under the constitution of the Irish Free State, passed in 1922; all members of the Dail Eireen must take an oath of allegiance to the constitution and fidelity to the King. The relation 6f the Irish Free State to the Imperial Government is in all respects similar to that of theJ Dominion of Canada.
