CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS. HOLMES WINS CENTRE TITLE. The title of champion of champions in the singles division of the Uisbome Bowling Centre's clubs was won by Captain J. W. Holmes, of Uisborne Club, in the tourney played yesterday on Kabul ia green. Keen interest centred in the. In the final. Holmes gained an early lead on his opponent, and on the fourth head by 6—l. Murray got a brace, and Holmes followed with a brace and a single, and later scored two on the tenth head, the score at this stage being Vl —s in his favor. At the fourteenth, the difference was, the same as before, and Holmes seemed to have a comfortable position, but Murray made a fine effort, sustained over four bends, and equalised the, score at the eighteenth bond, 14... all.
