No further development has arisen over the Italy-.!ago-Slav trouble. It is understood that the British Ministers at Belgrade and Rome are using their influence in favor of the suggested inquiry into Italy's charges by a corps of military attaches. Nobody has yet moved in the direction of inviting the League of Nations' assistance. The British view is that this is probably no! necessary, but Downing .Street is in no way opposed to the reference of the matter to Geneva. Well-informed circles summed up the situation to-day by declaring that the press for once had served a most useful purpose. The wide publicity given through Europe at the week-cud entirely knocked the bottom out of Signor Mussolini's little game and removed the danger of a rapid Hare up. it. has forced Sigma- Mussolini to realise the danger of going too far.
