PRAYER BOOK REVISION

THE BISHOP'S MESSAGE lElec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) [Australian and N.Z. Gable Association.. (Received March 25, noon) LONDON, March 22. The final revision of the Prayer Book, which convocations of the Church Assembly must accept or reject entirely, contains a lengthy preface, in which the Bishops, explaining the necessity for revision, declare ; "The Book of Common Prayer must always be one of the great books of the world, but what fitted the seventeenth century docs not supply in every way the twentieth. The marvel is that so little change is necessary." They point out the reservation of the sacrament is not a change of doctrine, nor is it meant to enable the sacrament to be used otherwise than our Lord appointed. It includes a, prayer for the British Empire, appealing to Uod "to draw together in true fellowship of men the diverse races, languages and customs dwelling therein, that working in brotherly concord they may fulfil the purpose Thy providence set and forward Thy Everlasting Kingdom.
