TAUMARUNUI EWE FAIR (Per Press Association.) TAUMARUNUI, last night. The Taumarunui annual ewe fair today brought forward close on 30,000 sheep, which for the last two days have been arriving in town from all parts of the district. The sheep grown in the King Country are hardy and do particularly well wh,en removed to the lower pastures, and this fact, no doubt, was responsible for the number of outside buyers being present. The sale was dull at the start, but livened somewhat later in the day. The best price for four-tooth ewes was 23s lOd; 4 and syr. ewes brought 20s 6d; 2-th ewes 22s 3d. TINIROTO STOCK SALE MOST LINES SOLD. (Special to tho Herald.) TINIROTO, this day. The Tinjroto stock sale on Monday was a distinct success, some 7000 sheep being yarded, of which number approximately 6000 were .sold. There was a fair attendance of buyers, and good competition for most lines. Many of fhe sheep were bought, for the Gisborne district-, and practically all were in good order. The wethers were an especially good lot.
Prices were :—Two-tooth ewes made up to 20s 4d; 4, 6 and 8-th ewes to 21s 7d; m.a. lines to 17s 2d; 2-th wethers, f. and f., to 19s 10d; 4-th wethers to 19s 4d; lambs to 7s lOd; old rams to lgn.
