Norman Ross, tho Chicago favorite, swam oven with Young for a timet at the start, but gave up whtfn a mile and a half behind Young, 25 minutes before Young finished. Young's average crawl stroke throughout was 54 to the minute. AUCKLAND 50 YARDS CHAMPIONSHIP. (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, last night. The 50yds swimming championship of Auckland" was decided to-night, Adamson winning and thus retaining the title. Enwright was second and Paii'gray third. Won by a yard. Time 26see.
