The Auckland Association wrote protesting against the non-inclusion of an Aucklander on the committee to select the New Zealand team for the English tour.- The letter stated: "Your committee's decision has caused much disappointment in the north and as Auckland's claims for representation are so strom; the decision is difficult to understand. It is felt that on account of the proximity of Canterbury and Otago the representative from Otago could have given way to another from the North Island. The number of cricketers in the North Island is much greater than in the South, and it is submitted that the present playing strength of the North island is greater than that of imc' south." The letter was received.
