Tho Wa-inui leaves Auckland at 5 p.m. to-day for Tokomaru Bay and Gisborne, and vwill bo tenderer! hero for inward passengers on Thursday morning. She sails that evening for Napier, the launch for out waft! passengers leaving the Kaiti side at 4 p.m. (meantime) The Kahika, wtih cargo from southern ports, is expected to .arrive at Gisborne on Thursday. Tho Kanio loads at Dnnedin on Jann. ary 25, and subsequently at Oamaru, Tiinaru, Lyttelton. and Wellington, for Gisborne, and is due here about February 1. "The Putiki sailed yesterday for Wellington, via the Coast. Tho Parera sailed early this morning for Pigeon Bay with sheep. She proceeds thence to Westport and Greymouth to load timber and coal for Waikokopu and Tokomarii Bay.

The Awahoti was expected to clear Auckland to-day for Tokomaru Buy and Gisborne, and is due hero on Friday.

The Pakura leaves Wellington tonight for Napier and Gisborne, and arrives here on Friday morning.

The Koutunui arrives to-morrow from Napier with shingle. The Tiron cleared Auckland last night for Hicks Bay, Tokomaru Bay, and Gisborne, and is due here to-mor-row night. The Elsie Mary is expected to leave Auckland to-morrow for Gisborne direct, and is due here on Friday. The Gunbar arrived from Auckland and Coast bays late last night, and is to sail this evening for Napier with wool. She proceeds thence to the Coast and Auckland. Tho A.TJ.S.N. Co.'s passenger steamer Kuranda is reported sold to India. A steel twin-screw steamer of 953 tons gross, she was built at Dundee in 1901. The vessel is reported to have realised £BOOO.

MINESWEEPER'S VOYAGE

During the long and arduous seven months' voyage of the minesweeper Wakakura from England to Auckland, lightning struck one of the masts and two of the officers, who were sleeping on deck, had narrow escapes. The engines behaved so vilely with constant breakdowns that tho ship's cat deserted, being replaced by a parrot as a mascot.
