A match was played at Waipiro Bay during the week-end between Mata team and the Waipiro Bay team. As the match was for the Ben Taylor Shield much interest was taken in the result. Mata compiled 73 runs in their first innings. Waipiro's innings resulted in 96 runs, to which Mata replied with 115.
