FIRES IN WELLINGTON
TWO BUILDINGS DAMAGED (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. At 4.45 p.m. on Saturday the tire brigade received a call to 74 Dixon street to a two-storied brick and iron building containing offices and store rooms. It is understood the lire broke out in the ground floor. The first floor, which was severely damaged by fire and water, was occupied by Dyes and Chemicals, Ltd, The ground floor of 7t> Dixon street, occupied by the Toledo Scales Co. was damaged by smoke, while the contents of the top floor, occupied by Excelsior Supply Co., Ltd., were damaged by fire and water. No insurances are available. At 7.15 p.i#. the brigade was called to 72 Vivian street to a two-storied five-roomed wood and iron dwelling and shop. The building, which was unoccupied, was owned by F. Goodwin. The woodwork in the kitchen was damaged by water and cutting.
