SYDNEY, Jan. 7

Commander Marsdeu, in an address to the Millions Club, said what surprised him when he arrived in Australia was to fiitd the people still arguing about tho Singapore base. All Britain sought there was to build a dry dock capable of holding the largest battleships and aeroplane carriers in the fleet. Singapore was the strategic centre of the world's seas. After blowing a full gab- of condemnation against Communists and all rjieir doings, he added: "People think England is down and out, but you judge :i man by the way he comes out for the next round, and believe me England svill never be knocked out." .
