EDUCATION NEEDED.
TO ENCOURAGE MIGRATION (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) (Received January 3, 10 a.m.) LONDON, January 1. The Earl of Clarendon, speaking at tl!e"'Educational Association's conference, cited the slowness of migration to the Dominions. Though it was increasing he did not believe a mass movement was possible. Britain's urbanisation did not suit her inhabitants for agricultural pursuits. Education in the meaning of the Empire, and purpose regarding the welfare of the world might- afford a solution, and a great Empire-wide campaign in this direction should be inaugurated, reviving the desire for a country life in youthful minds.
