INCREASED EXPENDITURE TORPEDO BOAT ACTIVITY (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) (Received January 3, 10 a.m.) LONDON, Deo. 31. A British United Press message from Berlin states that substantial increases in the Army and Navy expenditures are disclosed in a draft of the Budget, under which £3,000,000 is earmarked for building torpedo boats. The respective totals of the Army and Navy estimates are £24,250,000 and £11,250,000, compared with Britain £44,250,000 and £59,7500,000.
