N.Z.-N.S.W. CONFERENCE SOUGHT

At a meeting of the Council of the New Zealand Rugby Union the New South Wales Rugby 'Union advised it.was desired that a conference be'tween the representatives of their union and the New Zealand Council should be arranged in Sydney with as little delay as possible. In view of the intended visit of the New South Wales representative team to the British Isles in tho coming year, the question of sending a team to New Zealand, as provided for in •an agreement between tho two unions, appeared to be a matter meriting immediate consideration. As there was also tho matter of the New Zealand team to visit South Africa in 1928, who may play New South Wales en route, and tho visit of the French team, both of which required some definite information, the council decided to appoint a representative at a later date. The Waikato Eugby Union forwarded a request that a board be set up to inquire into the question of dividing the present Waikato' Union into two unions. It was felt that tho present position was not in the best interests of football in Hamilton, or in the Waikato generally. It was decided that a member of the New Zealand Council should attend a conference between representatives of the Waikato and Hamilton Unions to consider the matter.
