NEW SOUTH WALES FIGURES (Received December 8,2 p.m.) SYDNEY, December 8. Thd drink bill for the year ended June 30, 1926, was £12,633,000, equal to £5 9s lie! per head of the population, being an increase of £963,000 or 6s 4d per head! compared with the preceding year. The increase is chiefly attributed to the increased consumption of Australian beer and l the higher price charged for imported whisky, following the increase of & per gallon in duty.
