SYDNEY'S WATER STORAGE
A report submitted to the Sydney Water Board recently showed that the supply was now satisfactory. No member bad any complaint to make regarding the service in any portion of the metropolitan area. Statistics submitted by the chief engineer showed that there was at present 58,943,0C0.CG0 gallons of water, or sufficient for- two year's supply under normal conditions. The new reservoir at Avon, which is Hearing completion has the greatest quantity of water impounded, the volume last week being 27.057,000,000 gallons,, with facilities for impounding an additional 20,000.C00.CC0 gallons;. The Avon reservoir will, when completed, be the Inifgtiift storage reservoir of the catchment: area, and will bold as much water as Cordc-lux, Cataract, and i Prospect combined. Cataract has at present 14,797.000,000 gallon*, with accommodation for an additional 6,OCO,CGV (100 gallons, while Curdeaux has 1'2;6'10,000.000 gallons impounded, with storage for an additional 8,000,000,000 'gallons. i i ii in ■» mil t fi
