COMPENSATION SOUGHT
(Per Tress Association.) ELTHAM, this day. 'two claims for compensation, amounting to about £3OOO, against the Tavanaki Electric. Power Board, have been beard, during the past two days, before, tho Chief Justice, Mr. Skerrett. Compensation is claimed! for drainage alterations and alleged reduction in the value of lands which could not be properly cultivated or drained by reason of the erection of electric workings; for responsibility for the risk of damage to the electric work by the escape of fire whilst burning- off waste on the said land, and for the risk of damage by lire due to loss through escape of electrical energy. This morning arrangements were made for the law points to be decided by a full co/irt, and the case was adjourned silie die.
