HOUDINI'S PACT
SPIRIT MESSAGE TEST NEW YORK, Nov. 23. Dozens of mediums claim to have received messages from Houdini, but the magician's widow says none contains the key words agreed upon liefore his death. Mrs. Houdini revealed to-day that her husband made a compact to communicate, if possible, after death, with her; Sir Arthur Canon Doyle, and an unnamed friend in Philadelphia. Houdini gave his wife a tenword message which she is keeping secret. The Scientific American publishes a message submitted as a communication I'roiu Houdini by a medium In Jlrattleboro (Mass.), but the widow says it has not the right words. Houdini. was a sworn eifeiuy of the spiritualists, declaring that he could reproduce any id' their "spirit nianifestations" by the ordinary "magic" of his profession.
