The Gisborne Motor-Cycle Club is conducting a run to Ngatapa to-morrw. Motor-cycle football and hill-climbing contests will he held. Reference to the satisfactory settlement of the freezing dispute, was made by Mr. R, W. Coop, president of tho A, and P. Association this morning. Mr. Coop said that he understood the men would be returning on Monday. Unions were all right, hut could be overdone, and it was to be hoped that the Arbitration Court would apply some measure to protect farmers In the future. The freezing industry would undoubtedly stand by ilie men who had assisted the farmers. The Gisborne Salvation Army Young People’s Corps gained the Dominion shield for best advance in Sunday ‘school work for t92(i. The shield will be presented to the corps on Monday night by Staff Captain Perry, Young People’s secretary. A tribute, to tho popularity of Mr. P. W. Cray was paid by business men of Gisborne yesterday afternoon, when a large gathering met to farewell him at the Masonic hotel. On behalf of the busiilessi people of Gisborne, tho Mayor, Mr. G. Wildish, presented Mr. Gray with a travelling rug. In doing so he referred to the excellent. civic record of Mr. Gray, who had been a member of the Borough Council for some years. They all regretted that ill health was causing Mr. Gray to leave Gisborne and go to Auckland, and they hoped that both •ho nnd his wife and family would enjoy good health in their new homo. A number of other speakers also referred eulogistically to the many good qualities possessed by Mr. Gray, and the gathering concluded with the 'singing of “For He’s a Jolly Good Fellow, ' *
