FIRE AT NARROIV NECK (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. A ton-roomed house at Narrow Neck, Devonport, owned by Mrs. A. I. Burgess, was destroyed bv fire this morning. The building was insured ' for £IBOO. IMMIGRANTS’ COMPLAINT AUCKLAND, this day. Many of the Arawa’s immigrants complain that the part of the ship where th6y were located was cramped, smelly, and over-crowded; that the arrangements for washing and sanitation were - inadequate,, and tlio bunks narrow and uncomfortable. As a sequel io a collision between a. bus and motor-car in Jervois quay in September, A. J. McGowan claimed damages against tho. Wellington Suburban Motor Hus Co. in the Magistrate’s Court to-day. The defendants did not appear. After evidence had been heard Mr. Hidd'cl). S.M., awarded £25 with costs.
