POVERTY BAY ASSOCIATION. The weekly meeting: of the management committee of tlie Poverty Bay Cricket Association was held last evening, Mr. 11. I). Ohrisp presiding. There were also present: Messrs 0. Lockett, E. Seed, R. E. Gambrill, A. Baker, V. Oaulton, L. A. Greig, J. Robertson, and W. Gumming. It was reported that four teams were available for the junior competition, and the draw for next Saturday resulted: Celtic v. United, at the domain; High School A v. School B, at the school. November 25 and 2(5 were the dates ' suggested for the Hawke Cup elimination match iu a letter from the Waiapu Association. The dates were agreed to, and it was decided that the selectors should pick 20 men to go into practice with a view to selection for the Poverty Bay team. The inauguration of afternoon tea at tire Oval was a distinct success, according to a report by Mr. Baker. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to the Judies who assisted and to Messrs Craven, Baker and Campbell. Mr. W. J. Scholium was appointed in place, of Air. A. C. Cooke on the selection committee, the latter being unable to act owing to his absence from the district for four weeks. Registration of the following players was approved: Harbor Board, E. H. Harvey, J. Hanmigan, C. Stubbs, .). Oates and Winter; Celtic, P. Eelean and Wright; Gisborne, f>. S. Morris. The question of the disqualification of one team for playing an unregistered player was held over. AIT junior players must be registered before next meeting. The Celtic Club advised that the captain of their senior team would' not give permission for replacement of players after the first innings of the opposing team, and asked that, other clubs lie notified. It was resolved to write the club and explain tiie position and reasons for the rule. In accordance with previous notice, Mr. Gumming moved that the method of determining the senior championship should lie altered, and this was carried unanimously. In connection with the Thursday competition, it was reported that there was every prospect of a Motor • Mechanics ’ team being formed, while already the Mercantile team is In be- > ing.
