A tidal wave at Pari Hooded the town to a depth of six feet in a few minutes. The inhabitants fled in their night clothes, but a number of houses collapsed, burying Ihe inmates. Thirty bodies have already been discovered. Seven thousand people are homeless.
Lord Lloyd, High Commissioner of Egypt, wdio was travelling to Cairo, was involved in the disaster, but was saved.

Two hundred people were killed and many injured by a typhoon and tidal wave at Batangos, a seaport bG miles south of Manila.
