The final municipal election results for 254 towns in England and Wales show that the Conservatives had elected 694. They gained 52 and lost 0.1 seats. The Liberals had 31G elected, gaining 21 and losing 61. Labor had oil elected, gaining 205 and losing f>9. The Independents' figures were 501, 24, 87.
