Manchester city warmly welcomed the Premiers when the freedom of the city was conferred upon them in the council chamber. Laborite members of the council did not participate, as a protest against honors being given too freely. General llevtzog was the only absentee, and received the freedom in absentia. The Lord Mayor will take the Freeman's Roll to London for his signature. A scroll in a magnificent casket was presented to each Freeman, who responded. They subsequently were guests of the Lord. Mayor at dinner. The Dominion Premiers were includled in a party which visited the Rugby wireless station, and inspected the installation throughout, including that for trans-Atlanitie, telephony. It is intended to add a. short wave transmitting station. The Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates has been sworn in as a Privy Councillor. Edinburgh University will confer the honorary electorship of laws on Mr. Coates. probably on! November 24.
