(6 a.pi.), 700 tons, Coldientt, from Wellington, via Napier. Koau. o.e.v. (7.40 a.m.), 155 tons, M» Nab, from Napier. DEPARTURES Friday, October 29. Putiki, s.s. (11.30 p.m.), 409 tons. Smith, for Waikokopu and Napier. The Wnimti, from Napier, was tendered this morning with one launch for inward and outward passengers at 9.50 o'clock, ami sailed later for Auckland direct. The Kamona sailed from Newcastle at 7 p.m. on Thursday with' timber for Gisborne. On completion here she proceeds to Napier, thence Dunedin. The Kahika, now discharging here, is expected to complete on Monday, and sail later for Dunedin to load again for Napier and Gisborne, via the usual ports.
Tile Kauri was expected to leave Newcastle yesterday with timber for Napier and' Gisborne, and coal for Auckland. ' The Putiki was despatched last night for Waikokopu and Napier. From Ljie latter port she proceeds to Westport to load coal for "Gisborne.
The Pakura arrived From Wellington I and Napier early this morning, and is to ' sail at 11 p.m. for Wellington. The Awaliou is due here on Tuesday from Auckland and Coast bays. She proceeds hence to Auckland direct. The Koau arrived from Napier this : morning, and is to leave for the Hawke’s i Bay port late this afternoon. i Tlie Kiritona is due from Waikokopu lon Wednesday morning with sand. WEATHER REPORT With the exception of Opotiki and Gisborne, where there were passing j clouds, cloudy or overcast skies were ; general throughout New Zealand lids ' morning. North-westerly breezes pro--1 vailed south of Opotiki, with sonfhwesterlies at East Cape, and westerlies further north. Temperature readings varied from 69. degrees at Gape Campbell to 70 degrees at Napier, other_stations viz., Auckland 62, Tauranga 66, j.ast. Cape 63, Gisborne 61, New Plymouth 63, Wellington 61. Opotiki 60, and Castlepoint 65. Heavy seas-were reported at Cape Maria, Gisborne and Opotiki; rough at Castlepoint and Cape Palliser; moderate to smooth elsewhere. Wniroa reports this day: Strong westerly wind; smooth sea; good bar, WEATHER FORECAST The indications are for westerly winds, moderate tc> strong, mid hacking by west to south. The weather will probably prove squally and changeable, with passing showers on the coast. The barometer is rising. Seas rough off shove; tides good.
