COUNTY JUBILEE
WAIROA EN i'ETE PROGRAMME TOR MONDAY (Special to the Herald.) WAIROA, this day. On Monday, upon the occasion of'the jubilee of the Wairoa County, the town will be en fete, and there-will he numerous events of interest. The banks and wholesale itouses will observe, a, close holiday, while the retailers will close from 11 a.m.. The school-children in the country will be corning to the town for the day, and it is expected flint altogether there will he an attendance of from 15C0 to 2000 people. The proceedings open with a. procession through the town, this leaving leaving North Clyde at 11 a.m. and going to the new sports grounds. At the sports ground there will he a varied programme, including a draught horse derby, which is expected to ho the piece do resistance. In addition there will he, a buhy show, a iire brigade display, and numerous events fur the children. Jn Hie afternoon the grounds will he officially opened bv the Mayor, Mr. J. Gorkill, and in the evening there will be a dinner for the old pioneers, to lie followed by a free entertainment at the Gaiety Theatre, when once again the pioneers will he the guests of the residents of Wairoa.
